Punjab Government Announces Summer Vacation Schedule 2025

Due to the intense rise in temperature and ongoing heatwave conditions across the province, the Punjab Government has officially announced the summer vacation schedule for all public and private educational institutions.

The extreme weather conditions, coupled with intermittent electricity shortages, have made it increasingly difficult for students to continue regular academic activities. Taking these challenges into consideration, the government has issued a formal notification regarding the closure of schools and colleges for summer holidays.

Summer Vacation Schedule:

• Summer vacations will commence from 23 May 2025 in all schools and colleges across Punjab.
• Educational institutions will reopen on 14 August 2025.

Cold Regions of Punjab:

For colder regions of the province, including areas such as Kotli Sattian, the summer vacation schedule will be adjusted as follows:

• Holidays will begin from 16 July 2025
• Institutions will reopen on 29 July 2025

Additional Considerations:

This year, the duration of summer vacations has been extended compared to previous years. The extension has been made not only due to severe weather conditions but also in view of the expected commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, anticipated to begin in the last week of May 2025.

Implementation Directive:

The notification has been circulated to all public and private educational institutions across Punjab. All schools and colleges are strictly directed to comply with the announced schedule, and no institution is permitted to remain operational during the designated holiday period.
